More than 75,000 bottles of International Delight creamer are being recalled across numerous states, as announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this week.
Danone, the brand’s parent company based in Louisville, Colorado, initiated this voluntary recall following complaints of spoilage and illness associated with the product, according to information made available by the FDA online.
The exact number of people affected by these issues remains unclear.
The FDA states the recall, which began on February 21, involves two flavors of International Delight creamer.
Danone North America explained in a statement on Friday, “International Delight is aware that some of our creamers have presented a texture issue to consumers. We take such concerns very seriously, as this quality is not what we aim to deliver.”
Danone North America clarified that the recalled products fell short of “quality standards due to premature spoilage evident by a texture issue.”
“Although this may be disappointing for creamer enthusiasts, testing has assured us that there is no food safety risk,” the statement continued. “Out of an abundance of caution, we have opted to recall these select products while addressing the quality matter.”
The two creamer flavors subject to recall are:
