Nearly 5,000 pouches of shredded cheese available at Aldi’s stores in four states have been recalled due to possible metal contamination, warn health authorities.
The voluntary recall specifically targets 400 cases of Happy Farm’s Colby Jack Deli Sliced Cheese that may contain stainless steel fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Each case includes 12 pouches of cheese, with each pouch holding 12 ounces.
Exposure to these contaminants could pose temporary health risks, though the likelihood of severe health issues is considered low, the FDA notes.
These Aldi products, a blend of shredded Colby and Monterey cheeses, are packaged in flexible plastic stand-up pouches.
