DALLAS – Anthony Davis made a powerful first impression in his debut for the Dallas Mavericks, but his night was unexpectedly cut short when he sustained what the team described as a “lower-body injury.” With just under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Mavericks listed Davis as doubtful to return. Ultimately, the star forward did not reappear on the court after leaving late in the third quarter. Despite his premature exit, Dallas managed to secure a 116-105 victory over the Rockets.

Davis left the game with 1:37 remaining in the third quarter, heading to the locker room while gripping his midsection. Before his departure, he had already impressed with 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks in just 31 minutes of play. His performance was particularly notable as he had missed the previous five games due to an abdominal injury. Davis sustained this latest injury while trying to contest Alperen Sengun’s driving dunk as a help defender.
