ParkMobile, the popular parking payment app used across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, has agreed to a $32.8 million settlement following a major data breach. The question is, are you eligible for compensation?
In 2021, a data breach impacted millions of ParkMobile users, leading to a class-action lawsuit that has now settled, with ParkMobile agreeing to the settlement amount, though they have not admitted any fault.
If you were notified by ParkMobile about the 2021 Data Security Incident, you’re part of what’s known as the “Settlement Class.” This means you could be entitled to compensation from this settlement.
Eligible users who file a claim by the deadline of March 5, 2025, might receive either a cash payment of up to $25 or a $1 credit in the ParkMobile app. However, these payments won’t be distributed until after the final court hearing set for March 13, 2025, and there may be delays extending into 2026.
You are eligible to make a claim if:
Those who decided to opt out by February 3, 2025, along with judges, their staff, and their families, are not eligible for this settlement.
