Argentinian Midfielder Returns After Long Recovery: Set to Join Pumas for Upcoming Match

An Argentinian midfielder has been on a lengthy road to recovery since his injury in July of last year. He is now set to travel with Pumas to Puebla for their Jornada 11 match in the Clausura 2025. The player had faced a significant setback in July 2024 after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his knee, keeping him sidelined since then. However, according to TUDN reporter Rodrigo Celorio, the initial plan is for him to play with the Under-23 team, and if needed by Efraín Juárez, he might at least make the bench at Cuauhtémoc Stadium.

He has been training alongside the rest of the university squad for the past two weeks. After his participation in the youth match, a decision will be made between the coaching staff, medical team, and the player himself regarding his inclusion in the Liga MX game. Puebla and Pumas face off in their Jornada 11 match of the Clausura 2025 this Friday, March 7, at Cuauhtémoc Stadium at 9:00 PM Central Mexico time. The university team currently stands at 12th place in the league with 11 points, while Puebla holds 15th place with eight points.

The disappointing performances from the Pedregal side recently led to the sacking of Gustavo Lema just days ago. They approached their Jornada 10 match against Chivas with Raúl Alpizar at the helm of the university team, and Efraín Juárez made his debut as Pumas’ head coach with a midweek victory against Alajuelense.
