The Baltimore Ravens announced on Monday the release of their veteran kicker, Justin Tucker, after a notable 13-year tenure with the team.

“Decision-making in football is not always easy, and this is certainly a challenging one,” stated Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta. “Given the current makeup of our roster, we have had to make the difficult choice to let Justin Tucker go.

“Justin has been a pivotal figure in many landmark moments for the Ravens. His consistent reliability, unwavering focus, relentless drive, resilience, and exceptional talent have established him as one of the premier kickers in the league for over a decade. We deeply appreciate Justin’s significant contributions during his time with the Ravens.”

In the recent NFL draft, the Ravens picked kicker Tyler Loop from the University of Arizona in the sixth round.

Reports from the Baltimore Banner have surfaced accusing Tucker of inappropriate sexual misconduct by several massage therapists, with incidents purportedly occurring between 2012 and 2016.

Tucker has firmly denied these allegations, describing them as “shocking and heart-breaking.”

CNN has reached out to Tucker’s representatives for further comment.

On Sunday, head coach John Harbaugh addressed questions about Tucker’s situation.

“In terms of the investigation, we’re in the dark. We haven’t received any information, as is customary,” Harbaugh explained. “Everything is proceeding according to protocol. Therefore, we can’t base any decisions on the limited available information. All our decisions must be driven by football.”

The NFL informed CNN on Monday that it is continuing to review the accusations against Tucker under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.

Tucker joined the Ravens in 2012 as an undrafted free agent and has spent his entire career with the team.

Widely recognized as one of the top placekickers in the league, Tucker holds the highest career field goal percentage at 89.1%, marking him as the most precise kicker in NFL history.

He was part of the Ravens team that secured victory in Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.
