Phoenix Suns’ guard Bradley Beal had to sit out the second half of Sunday’s clash against the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena due to persistent left hamstring pain.

In his absence, two-way player Collin Gillespie took the court, starting the second half in Beal’s place.

Beal has been battling a nagging left calf injury that previously kept him from playing in two consecutive games against New Orleans. During the first half against the Lakers, he managed only four points, shooting 2-for-6 across 15 minutes.

By halftime, the Suns were trailing 54-37.

Throughout the 48 games he has played, Beal has suffered various injuries, affecting his right shoulder, right elbow, right knee, left ankle, left great toe, left calf, and now his left hamstring.

The Suns, currently with a record of 31-36, will play against Toronto, who stands at 24-43, on Monday as they kick off a five-game homestand following back-to-back contests.
