PHILADELPHIA – The Milwaukee Bucks continued their winning streak by clinching a second consecutive victory, edging out the resilient Philadelphia 76ers with a 126-113 win. The game took a surprising turn as 76ers’ head coach Doc Rivers became ill and had to oversee the remainder of the match remotely, leaving assistant coach Darvin Ham to take over on the court.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the star of the evening, achieving his eighth triple-double of the season in spectacular fashion. He delivered an astonishing performance with 35 points, 20 assists, and 17 rebounds in 39 minutes of play. The Bucks needed every bit of his talent as they initially trailed by 17 points but managed to keep the game competitive throughout.

The Bucks, holding a 42-34 record, gained the upper hand late in the third quarter against the 23-54 76ers, eventually widening the gap to an 18-point lead midway through the fourth quarter.

In this game, Antetokounmpo surpassed his personal best for assists in a single game, topping the 16 assists he recorded against the San Antonio Spurs on December 19, 2023. With 20 assists, he joined the ranks of Denver’s Nikola Jokić and Atlanta’s Trae Young, being among the few to register at least 30 points and 20 assists in a game.

Further cementing his place in NBA history, Antetokounmpo became just the third player to notch over 30 points, 20 assists, and 15 rebounds in a single game, joining the elite company of Oscar Robertson and Nikola Jokić. His assist count now proudly stands as the third-highest in a single game for the Bucks franchise.

Antetokounmpo came close to achieving only the second 30-point, 20-assist, 20-rebound triple-double in league history, almost matching Jokić’s groundbreaking achievement from March 7.

Displaying exceptional accuracy, Antetokounmpo made 12 of 19 field goals and was reliable from the free-throw line, sinking 10 of 11 shots. His orchestration of the Bucks’ offense was further bolstered by contributions from six other teammates who reached double digits in scoring.
