China Strikes Back at US with Steep Tariff Increases

In a strategic response to President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, China has decided to significantly raise its tariffs on American imports, taking them beyond 80%. According to an official translation of the announcement from China’s Office of the Tariff Commission of the State Council, tariffs on U.S. products will soar to 84% from the previous rate of 34%, starting April 10.

This move follows the recent escalation by the U.S., where tariffs on Chinese imports have surpassed the 100% mark, a change that was implemented at the beginning of April 9.
