The Cleveland Browns took a playful jab at the Pittsburgh Steelers on social media ahead of their schedule release, comparing Pittsburgh to a ‘dumpster fire’ in their cheeky post.
Over the last five years, the Browns and Steelers have rekindled their historic rivalry as Cleveland has been pulling itself out of a cycle of constant rebuilding. Since Myles Garrett joined the Browns, matches between the two teams have become much more competitive, with the series ending in a split just last year.
This season, the Browns are poised for a fierce competition at quarterback with four contenders, including rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. The team is looking to bounce back after finishing last season with a record that earned them the second overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Notably, Cleveland’s critical video was filmed in Pittsburgh back in 2018 by KDKA on Route 51 during a flood.
The Browns struggled last year, ending with a 3-14 record. Even though the Steelers have had their challenges in meeting high expectations, they’ve managed to make the playoffs in four of the last five seasons.
At the same time, the Chargers joined in on the fun, critiquing the Steelers for their difficulties in advancing beyond the Wild Card Round. They poked fun at the Steelers’ 9-8 and 10-7 records and the ongoing speculation surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ next move.
