Inglewood, Calif. – LA Clippers’ head coach Tyronn Lue was unexpectedly absent from the team’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings due to back pain.

Despite meeting with the media for his usual pre-game conference on Sunday night, Lue showed no signs of discomfort. However, further information about the 47-year-old coach’s condition was not disclosed by the team.

Stepping in for Lue, assistant coach Brian Shaw took over bench duties. Shaw, who joined the Clippers in 2021, previously served as the head coach for the Denver Nuggets and has had two stints as an assistant with the Lakers, where he earned three NBA championship rings as a player.
