On Sunday morning at 6:28 a.m., the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood warning for Hudson, Essex, and Union counties, effective from 8 p.m. that evening until midnight on Monday.
The service forecasts, “Inundation of up to half a foot above ground level is anticipated in vulnerable areas near the coast and shoreline.”
The weather service further clarifies, “Expect brief minor flooding in the more susceptible locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Avoid driving on flooded roads.”
