Coastal Flood Warning Issued for Parts of Massachusetts

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood alert starting at 1:46 a.m. on Wednesday. This warning is in effect from 11 p.m. and will continue until 7 a.m. on Thursday, specifically targeting the areas of Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket counties.

According to the weather service, “There is an expectation of minor overwash above ground level in low-lying regions along shorelines and tidal waterways, with water rising from 3.1 to 12.1 feet above Mean Lower Low Water.”

The weather authority warns of potential water on roads and properties situated in low areas, advising, “Avoid driving on flooded streets.”
