The Detroit Tigers experienced a scheduling shake-up as their game on Tuesday was postponed, with a doubleheader set for Thursday. After a rough start to the season, the Tigers have been on a hot streak, boasting the best record in the American League as of Tuesday. Their ongoing success is largely credited to their formidable pitching lineup. Eager to capitalize on their momentum, the team was ready to take on the faltering Colorado Rockies, who hold the worst record in Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, plans were delayed as bad weather forced the postponement of the series opener, according to an announcement on the Rockies’ official social media. Now, Thursday’s doubleheader will kick off at 1:10 MDT, with the second game starting 30 minutes after the first concludes. Fans who had tickets for Tuesday’s game will receive refunds or credits.

Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports that the pitching rotation required adjustments due to the postponement. Jackson Jobe, initially set to start on Tuesday, will now pitch on Wednesday. Casey Mize will take the mound in Thursday’s first game, while the starting pitcher for the second game is yet to be decided. Tarik Skubal is not slated to pitch against the Rockies and will resume play when the team returns to Detroit. Despite the lineup changes, the Tigers remain focused on sweeping the series against Colorado, whose current performance stands at a dismal 6-28 record with a negative-89 run differential.
