A 5.5-magnitude earthquake rattled areas near Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday afternoon, while earlier tremors impacted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from another seismic event.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the earthquake hit Pakistan with a magnitude of 5.5 at 12:30 PM. The quake originated at a depth of 12 kilometers, situated 60 kilometers northwest of Rawalpindi.

Contrastingly, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a slightly lower magnitude of 5.0, with a depth recorded at 39.2 kilometers.

Fortunately, no immediate reports of damage following the earthquake have surfaced.
