Eric Dane Opens Up About ALS Diagnosis and Continuing Work on 'Euphoria'

Eric Dane has revealed to PEOPLE that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). “I’ve been diagnosed with ALS,” he shares, expressing his gratitude for having his loving family by his side as they tackle this new phase together. The 52-year-old actor is married to Rebecca Gayheart, and they are parents to two children: 15-year-old Billie Beatrice and 13-year-old Georgia Geraldine.

“I feel lucky that I am still able to work,” he tells PEOPLE. He eagerly anticipates returning to the set of ‘Euphoria’ next week. Dane requests privacy for his family and himself during this time. Starring as the patriarch of the Jacobs family on ‘Euphoria,’ he is scheduled to start production for the third season of the popular HBO series on April 14.
