A sudden fire erupted near the French Pavilion at Disney World in Florida on Saturday evening, filling the sky with thick, black smoke. Visitors to Walt Disney World were caught off guard when the blaze broke out at the EPCOT park. Social media buzzed with videos capturing the intense smoke from various perspectives. A Walt Disney World spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business that the fire started at EPCOT’s World Showcase and was effectively extinguished by 7:20 PM local time. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
The incident began when a walk-in cooler in a backstage area of the French Pavilion caught fire. Thanks to swift response, no structures suffered damage. The spokesperson also noted that the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride was evacuated initially. While the French Pavilion welcomed guests back before the park’s 9 PM closure, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure remained shut for the evening. This incident occurred during a bustling period at the amusement park, coinciding with both Spring Break in Florida and EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival.
