A Flash Flood Warning remains active until 2:15 a.m. for several counties in Deep East Texas, specifically:

  • Central Sabine
  • Eastern Nacogdoches
  • Northern San Augustine
  • Southern Shelby

National Weather Service Advisory

A significant zone of showers and thunderstorms has developed, becoming stagnant over these areas. Rainfall ranging from 1 to 3 inches has already been recorded within the warned region.

Forecasts suggest an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall in the coming hours.

Flash flooding is currently affecting many locations from Nacogdoches to Toledo Bend Reservoir, impacting small creeks, streams, and various roads and underpasses.

Safety Reminder: Never attempt to drive through flooded roads, especially at night. The adage “turn around, don’t drown” can save lives.

Affected areas experiencing or at risk of flash flooding include Milam, San Augustine, Hemphill, Rosevine, Patroon, Bland Lake, Neuville, Martinsville, Sexton, Jordans Store, Hurstown, Calgary, Columbus, Jericho, Negreet, and Arcadia.

The storm system is unleashing heavy rain over a concentrated portion of the Deep East Texas lakes region. These rain cells will persist for about an hour but are anticipated to lessen in strength as the night progresses.

More rain and thunderstorms are projected throughout the week for the Pineywoods. This already impacted area could face further flash floods if additional moderate to heavy rain impacts the region.
