FOX Corporation remains firm in its commitment to broadcast Pachuca and León games, as it stands embroiled in a legal tussle.
Over recent months, Grupo Lauman has faced the challenge of losing broadcasting rights for major sports like the NFL, Concachampions, Premier League, and the FA Cup. This loss has triggered a legal confrontation with both CONCACAF and FOX Corporation. The latter may terminate FOX Sports México following the cancellation of its licensing agreement.
FOX Corporation released a statement, addressed to Manuel Arroyo’s company, announcing the cancellation of Grupo Lauman’s licensing agreement for the FOX Sports brand. In response, Grupo Lauman has filed a lawsuit alleging contract breach.
Nonetheless, FOX Corporation argues that the claims and lawsuits from Grupo Lauman are baseless. The company asserts that Grupo Lauman had granted prior written permission for FOX Corporation to negotiate directly with Club Pachuca and Club León regarding the rights, as the contracts with these clubs had already expired and were in noncompliance.
