Frito-Lay has recalled certain bags of Tostitos tortilla chips because they may be contaminated with undeclared ingredients. The recall specifically targets 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips. Some of these bags might mistakenly contain nacho cheese tortilla chips, which could have undisclosed milk allergens, explained the company in a news release via the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. However, Frito-Lay assured that the product is safe for those who aren’t affected by dairy allergies or milk sensitivities, noting that no allergic reactions have been reported in relation to the recall.
According to the announcement, fewer than 1,300 bags are impacted by this recall. You can find a complete list of the lot numbers involved on the FDA’s website. These chips were distributed in stores and online across 13 states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, with sales starting as early as March 7. The recall was made public on March 27. Importantly, this recall does not affect any other Tostitos products, flavors, bag sizes, or variety packs, Frito-Lay emphasized.
