Prepare to bid farewell to beloved characters Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) in an upcoming Heartstopper feature film. The much-loved romance is reaching its conclusion with this project, which will not only star Connor and Locke but will also see them taking on roles as executive producers. The film, penned by Heartstopper creator, executive producer, and graphic novelist Alice Oseman, begins production this summer.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to complete the Heartstopper story,” Oseman shares enthusiastically. “I am immensely grateful to everyone who has put their heart and effort into making this a reality, and to the incredible Heartstopper fans for your unwavering patience and enthusiasm. I can’t wait to deliver a truly magical conclusion.”

Continuing from the heart-fluttering Season 3 finale, the feature film delves into the evolving dynamics of Nick, Charlie, and their friends as they hit significant milestones. With questions about the longevity of first loves looming, fans are invited to journey through what’s next for their favorite characters.

Nick and Charlie’s story will find its resolution, serving as an adaptation of Oseman’s forthcoming sixth and final Heartstopper graphic novel. Following Season 3, the couple finds themselves inseparable. However, as Nick prepares for university and Charlie embarks on newfound independence, they confront the challenges of a long-distance relationship. Undeniably, this brings uncertainties that test their bond like never before.

Meanwhile, their friends experience the unpredictable highs and lows of love and friendship, facing the bittersweet realities of personal growth and change.

The romantic tale is scripted by Oseman, who also executive produces alongside Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Euros Lyn, Locke, and Connor. “Still Alice” director Wash Westmoreland will bring this heartfelt story to life on the big screen.
