Simone Inzaghi is gearing up for the Champions League Final, unveiling a fresh tactical plan featuring Nicola Zalewski in a novel position against Torino. “We might go for a 3-4-3 setup,” he teased.

The match commences at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, kicking off at 17:00 UK time (16:00 GMT, 18:00 CET).

Inter Milan clinched their spot in the Champions League Final, where they will confront Paris Saint-Germain on May 31.

This feat came from an incredible 4-3 extra time win over Barcelona at San Siro on Tuesday. As a result, there are significant squad changes this evening, with standout players like Lautaro Martinez, Davide Frattesi, Benjamin Pavard, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan not accompanying the team.

Inzaghi refreshes Inter against Torino

“Of course, we’re thrilled with what we’ve achieved, bringing such joy and excitement to our supporters, but there’s still the most crucial hurdle to overcome,” Inzaghi expressed to Sky Sport Italia.

There’s a possibility of ending the season without silverware since Napoli holds a three-point lead atop the Serie A chart, but our main focus is on the upcoming Champions League battle.

“It’s out of our hands now, but we’ll do everything possible. Some players stayed back due to fitness concerns, and others weren’t in shape to play a full match, but I’m confident we’ll perform well,” the coach reassured.

Zalewski’s new role for Inter

Questions linger about Zalewski’s exact position, with Inzaghi hinting at a 3-4-3 formation tonight instead of the traditional 3-5-2.

“He’ll be advancing nearer to Taremi and Correa, so a 3-4-3 is likely. He possesses great skill, and I anticipate an outstanding performance from him. At times, he’ll fall back as a mezz’ala, but our tactical fundamentals remain,” the coach explained.

“We didn’t have any other players suited to start in that specific role.”
