Don’t underestimate Juan Soto—he’ll make you regret it.

Last December, Soto inked a record-breaking contract, the wealthiest in North American sports history, signing a 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets.

In the early days of spring training with the Mets, Soto is proving that he’s worth every cent, maintaining an impressive batting average near .400.

However, on Monday night, one spectator in the stands had a different opinion, relentlessly taunting Soto by calling him “overpaid” and “overrated.” All of this was captured on video.

Soto shot the fan a glance. Whether a look of irritation or a silent warning of payback to come, it was clear that Soto had something up his sleeve.

The answer came swiftly when Soto hit a solo home run right in the direction of the heckler, who didn’t even manage to catch the ball.

After the ball sailed over the fence, Soto made a point to gesture toward the fan, increasing the Mets’ lead to 4-0 in a game they eventually won 8-0 against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Soto, having been named an All-Star four times, enjoyed his best season with the Yankees last year, hitting .288 with a personal record of 41 home runs and racking up 109 RBIs.

During the Yankees’ successful World Series push, Soto stepped up his performance, posting a .327 average with four home runs in 14 postseason outings, including a series-clinching home run in the ALCS.

Beyond his All-Star accolades, Soto, now 26, is a five-time Silver Slugger and snagged the batting title during the condensed 2020 season.

This year, Soto will be leading a lineup that made a surprising push to the NLCS with a late-season surge.
