In a monumental year for Kendrick Lamar, in which he added five more Grammys to his collection (now totaling 22) and mesmerized a staggering 133 million viewers with his Super Bowl halftime performance, his partnership with SZA on the Grand National Tour amplifies his path to megastardom.

This duo from Compton began their impressive 39-city stadium tour, an uncommon feat for a hip-hop artist, on April 19 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The high-energy, two-and-a-half-hour concert was set into motion by a dynamic 40-minute DJ set courtesy of Lamar’s friend, Mustard. The show, which truly showcased the essence of co-headlining, launched with Lamar ascending from beneath the stage in a sleek Buick GNX.
