Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are back together on the big screen after 22 years.

On Friday, March 14, Disney released the first teaser for “Freakier Friday,” the much-anticipated sequel to the 2003 hit “Freaky Friday.” Once again, Lohan, now 38, and Curtis, 66, step into the shoes of the mother-daughter pair, Anna and Tess Coleman.

Disney announced the development of “Freakier Friday” last June, following years of rumors about a sequel. Lohan shared with PEOPLE in March 2024 that the film was “in progress.” By August, filming had wrapped, and both Lohan and Curtis celebrated their cinematic reunion on Instagram.

“It’s our last Monday on the set of #freakierfriday and my heart is so full,” Lohan expressed in an Instagram post on August 19. “The amazing cast, crew, and everyone at @disneystudios have poured so much time and love into this project!”

Returning actors from the original 2003 film include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.

Additionally, the sequel welcomes new faces like Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons, as reported in June. At D23 in August, Lohan revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Jacinto, 37, plays her character’s husband in the upcoming movie.

“Freakier Friday” hits theaters on August 8.
