A Powerball player from California struck it big on Saturday night, winning an estimated $527 million jackpot. This marks only the second occurrence in 2025 that the game’s top prize has been claimed.

The numbers that led to this monumental win were 7, 11, 21, 53, 61, and the red Powerball, 2.

The golden ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven on North Euclid Street in Anaheim, as confirmed by the California State Lottery.

The atmosphere was electrifying at the Anaheim store as employees were informed via a call about the colossal jackpot victory.

“My god, we hit the jackpot!” one employee exclaimed to a colleague in a video shared by KABC. “Our store is the lucky one. We sold the winning ticket. Someone bought it here. That’s amazing!”

The lucky individual now faces a decision between taking the full $527 million spread over 30 yearly payments or opting for a one-time cash payout of $243.8 million.

This fortunate win came against impressive odds of 1 in 292,201,338.

The 7-Eleven will receive a $1 million commission, the highest amount given to retailers for selling a winning ticket.

Meanwhile, five other participants scooped up $1 million each by correctly matching the game’s five white ball numbers. These new millionaires are from Ohio, Oregon, Texas, and two from Georgia.

This Saturday’s triumph is notably the largest and solely the second jackpot disbursed by Powerball this year, following Abbas Shafii’s win in Oregon, who matched all six numbers for the $328.5 million prize on January 18, 2025.
