PHOENIX – Shohei Ohtani delivered a memorable three-run homer, capping off a dramatic six-run rally in the ninth inning that propelled the Los Angeles Dodgers to a thrilling 14-11 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night. The Dodgers, who let slip an early five-run advantage, were down 11-8 as they headed into the ninth.

The turnaround began with Andy Pages and Enrique Hernandez, who each drove in a run with back-to-back doubles against reliever Kevin Ginkel (0-1). Max Muncy followed with an RBI single, leveling the score at 11-11, prompting Arizona to replace Ginkel with Ryan Thompson to face the formidable Ohtani.

For Arizona, the situation quickly deteriorated.

Despite being in a 1-2 count, Ohtani, who already had two doubles in the game, smashed his 12th home run just shy of the pool deck in right field, pushing the Dodgers ahead 14-11. Ohtani’s standout performance included four RBIs.

Tanner Scott then sealed the win by pitching a flawless ninth inning for his 11th save opportunity.

Initially, the Dodgers had jumped out to an 8-3 lead thanks to a rough outing for Eduardo Rodriguez. Yet, they struggled to maintain it.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. ignited the Diamondbacks with a tying grand slam in the fifth, while Ketel Marte and Randal Grichuk each launched solo homers against Alex Vesia (1-0) in the eighth, giving Arizona an 11-8 lead.

Pages contributed three RBIs, and Hernandez added to the Dodgers’ streak of consecutive games with a home run, extending it to 13 with his solo shot in the second inning.

Meanwhile, Marte provided offensive firepower for the Diamondbacks with two home runs. Rodriguez, however, had a tough night, allowing eight runs on nine hits across just 2⅔ innings.
