The Green Bay Packers faced challenges throughout the 2024 season with a shortage of strong cornerback performances. This was largely due to consistent health issues affecting star corner Jaire Alexander and subpar performances from former first-round pick Eric Stokes, among others.
Addressing these concerns, General Manager Brian Gutekunst took decisive action on the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period to bolster their cornerback depth. He successfully secured a deal with Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs, agreeing to a four-year contract worth $48 million, including $16 million guaranteed, according to NFL Media reports. Hobbs broke the news to NFL senior insider Josina Anderson, expressing his excitement about the move. The contract offers a maximum potential value of $51 million, and Hobbs described himself as “ecstatic” to become a part of the Packers team.
