Heading into free agency with the largest salary cap space in the NFL, the New England Patriots made significant waves on Monday, particularly strengthening their defensive lineup. By the end of the day, the Patriots had set their sights on three impactful players to elevate their defensive prowess, inking contracts with free agents: defensive tackle Milton Williams, cornerback Carlton Davis, and linebacker Robert Spillane.

Milton Williams secured a four-year deal worth $104 million, including $63 million guaranteed. Meanwhile, Carlton Davis landed a three-year contract valued at $60 million with $34.5 million being fully guaranteed. Robert Spillane agreed to a three-year deal for $37.5 million with $20.6 million guaranteed.

In addition to these defensive acquisitions, the Patriots also bolstered their offense by signing tackle Morgan Moses to a three-year, $24 million contract. These moves signal a clear commitment by the Patriots to strengthen both sides of the ball as they prepare for the upcoming season.
