  1. Moyes Reflects on Stalemate Posted at 17:58 GMT

Following the 1-1 draw between Everton and West Ham, Everton’s manager David Moyes shared his thoughts with BBC Sport: “The team’s character was remarkable. We earned our point in the end. The first half saw us perform well, though we lacked clear opportunities. West Ham came stronger in the second half. But substitutions gave us needed momentum, almost allowing us a win. A draw was probably fair on the day.”

Moyes emphasized the crowd’s incredible support, while acknowledging the areas requiring strengthening: “Our fans are phenomenal. We know improvements in quality are necessary. If victories elude us, it’s crucial to secure at least a draw.”

Commenting on Tomas Soucek and Jake O’Brien, Moyes noted,” Soucek, recruited for his goal-scoring prowess as a midfielder, proved his strength in both offensive and defensive plays. I’m glad for his performance, but it wasn’t in our favor.”

Praising O’Brien’s performance, Moyes added: “Jake’s goal was a highlight. He’s evolving as a right-back from a center-back. Premier League exposure is vital for him. Facing top players like Bowen and Kudus today, he showed promising potential.”
