The Rams have successfully negotiated a trade deal for offensive lineman Jonah Jackson.

According to Courtney Cronin from ESPN, Los Angeles will trade Jackson to the Chicago Bears in return for a 2025 sixth-round draft pick.

However, the transaction won’t be made official until the new league year begins next week.

Jackson, who is 28, inked a three-year, $51 million contract with the Rams last season during free agency. Unfortunately, after sustaining an injury early on, he was sidelined even after recovering to maintain consistency with the Rams’ starting lineup.

Reports surfaced last week indicating that the Rams granted Jackson permission to explore trade options.

In the 2024 season, Jackson started only four games, one of which was the Week 18 matchup, where head coach Sean McVay decided to rest many of the team’s first-choice players.

Jackson was initially drafted in the third round by the Lions in 2020. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2021 after starting 16 games as a guard.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports, the Bears will assume Jackson’s entire contract, which includes a total payment of $17.5 million in 2025 and extends into 2026.

This trade enables the Bears to fortify a crucial position on their offensive line, providing reinforcement ahead of the free agency period.
