Raphinha Shines in Barcelona's Champions League Victory

With an impressive performance, Raphinha scored twice in Barcelona’s 3-1 triumph over Benfica on Tuesday. This achievement not only propelled him to the top of the UEFA Champions League scoring chart with 11 goals but also set a new record: he is now the Brazilian with the most goals in a single Champions League season.

Previously, this accolade was shared by four other Brazilian stars, each with ten goals. Neymar achieved this during the 2014/15 season, Kaká in 2006/07, while Rivaldo and Jardel both hit the mark in the 1999/2000 season. All of these players were the top scorers in their respective Champions League campaigns.

Raphinha’s recent goals allowed him to surpass Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy from Guinea, who had led the current season’s goal tally with ten goals until the return matches of the Round of 16 began.
