Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned music mogul, is embroiled in a legal battle after prosecutors accused him of forcing a male escort to urinate in the mouth of Cassie Ventura during a controversial “freak off.” On Monday, May 12, the trial kicked off with opening statements where Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson recounted the disturbing incident. According to Johnson, Ventura described feeling a sense of suffocation during the act.
Combs currently faces a slew of charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution, as laid out in a September indictment. Despite these grave accusations, Combs has entered a plea of not guilty. The case hinges on what prosecutors have termed “freak offs,” reportedly elaborate sexual performances involving coercion or force, with participation from women and male escorts alike. In addition, the indictment makes note of CCTV footage allegedly depicting Combs assaulting Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel back in 2016.
