Thunderstorms have swept through North Texas on Tuesday, leaving thousands of residents without electricity.

The day has been designated as a WFAA Weather Alert Day due to the expectation of severe storms accompanied by heavy rain, hail, and winds reaching up to 60 mph across the region.

By late Tuesday morning, the intense weather caused more than 22,000 Oncor customers to experience power outages, as indicated on Oncor’s outage map.

“Oncor is closely observing the severe thunderstorms affecting our service areas,” reads a statement on Oncor’s website. “Our crews are prepared to address any power disruptions promptly, provided it is safe for them to proceed.”
