The National Weather Service in St. Louis has announced a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the regions of Northern Bond County, Northwestern Fayette County, and Southern Montgomery County in south-central Illinois. The warning is effective until 11:30 PM CDT. As of 10:38 PM CDT, radar detected severe thunderstorms forming a line from Witt to Woburn, stretching from Hillsboro to 6 miles north of Greenville, advancing northeast at 50 mph.

Hazards: Residents should brace for golf ball-sized hail and wind gusts reaching up to 70 mph. These conditions are confirmed by radar.

Impact: Those outdoors are at risk of injury. Anticipate hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. There will likely be considerable damage to trees. Mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings are prone to wind damage.

The storm is expected to reach Coffeen, Hillsboro, Schram City, and Taylor Springs by around 10:40 PM CDT, and Van Burensburg by about 10:45 PM CDT. Additional areas that might be affected include Donnellson, Fillmore, Chapman, Bingham, and Bayle City. Among the places included in this warning is Ramsey Lake State Park.
