In the early hours of Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Los Angeles County, effective from 1:53 a.m. until 3:30 a.m.

At the indicated time, the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA office observed thunderstorms unleashing heavy rainfall over the designated region, signaling imminent flash flooding. The hazardous conditions could affect small creeks, streams, urban zones, major roads, and areas with poor drainage or low elevation.

Areas under this warning include Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills, Encino, Santa Monica, Van Nuys, Calabasas, Malibu Creek State Park, Topanga State Park, Canoga Park, Pacific Palisades, Westlake Village, Point Dume, Brentwood, sections of Interstate 405 through the Sepulveda Pass, Bel Air, Sherman Oaks, and Oak Park.
