“Saturday Night Live” made its much-anticipated return this weekend, kicking off with a satire on President Donald Trump’s initial 100 days in office.

In the opening skit, James Austin Johnson once again showcased his renowned Trump impersonation, seated in a comedic rendition of the Oval Office. Joining him was Mikey Day, debuting as Trump’s advisor and White House deputy chief of staff, Stephen Miller.

Day, portraying Miller, helped celebrate Trump’s 100-day milestone by passing several executive orders to the president for his signature. But not without Johnson’s Trump boasting about the “147 executive orders” he’s already enacted, jokingly claiming responsibility for everything from banning paper straws to defunding PBS.

Among the imagined orders was one allowing men in their 70s to date much younger women. “We’re calling it the Belichick Law,” Johnson’s Trump quipped, nodding to Bill Belichick, famed coach, and his romantic relationship with Jordon Hudson, who is considerably younger.

Day’s Miller continued presenting more satirical orders, including making the New York Times game “Connections” easier and one bizarrely “outlawing ghosts.”

The final order aimed at linguistics, with Day’s Miller suggesting shortening the word recession. “Recession will now be called ‘recess.’ Fun, right?” quipped Johnson’s Trump. “America, get ready for a historically long recess!”

Adding a twist, SNL cast member Marcello Hernandez appeared in the skit, again taking on the role of Marco Rubio.

This episode was energetically hosted by “Abbott Elementary” mastermind Quinta Brunson, with musical performances featuring Benson Boone.

Now in its landmark 50th season, “Saturday Night Live” is nearing its conclusion, with just two more episodes to go. Next week will spotlight “White Lotus” star Walton Goggins as the host, followed by Scarlett Johansson guest-hosting the season finale.
