South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron has been found deceased in Seoul, according to police reports. The 24-year-old was discovered at her Seongsu-dong district residence by a friend around 16:55 local time (07:55 GMT) on a Sunday. Authorities have found no indicators of criminal activity and are currently investigating the cause of her untimely demise.

Kim initiated her acting journey as a child, quickly gaining recognition as one of South Korea’s most promising talents. Born in Seoul in 2000, she gained fame through her role in the 2009 film “A Brand New Life,” which earned her an appearance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. She further solidified her status with roles in “The Man from Nowhere,” the highest-grossing South Korean film of 2010, and the 2012 thriller “The Neighbour,” earning her critical acclaim.

Her impressive filmography includes notable performances in the 2014 film “A Girl at My Door” and the television series “Mirror of the Witch” in 2016. However, in 2022, she stepped back from the spotlight following a drink-driving incident, which led to a fine of 20 million won (£11,000) imposed in April 2023. Kim’s most recent appearance was in Netflix’s Korean drama “Bloodhounds” in 2023, though her role was substantially cut after the controversy.
