Music lovers eagerly await festival season in San Francisco, even if it’s still a few months away. Although keen early birds have already snagged tickets to the city’s eminent festival, the real excitement kicked off on Tuesday with the announcement of the Outside Lands lineup. Scheduled for August 8-10 in Golden Gate Park, the festival attracts approximately 75,000 attendees daily. Promoter Another Planet Entertainment transforms the park into a lively hub of art and activities, featuring unique attractions such as a wedding chapel and a cannabis-focused area. However, the ultimate lure remains the music.

This year, the spotlight shines on headliners Tyler, The Creator, Hozier, and Doja Cat. Tyler, The Creator makes a highly anticipated comeback following his memorable 2021 performance and a disappointing cancellation last year. Doja Cat promises a spectacle with her R&B flair, building on what was praised as a “masterpiece” Coachella appearance last year. Meanwhile, Hozier adds a blend of Irish-tinged Americana as the rock headliner. Other prominent performers include John Summit, Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, Vampire Weekend, Gracie Abrams, Glass Animals, Jamie xx, Gesaffelstein, and Doechii.

Noteworthy acts extend beyond these top names, featuring South African DJ sensation Black Coffee, Atlanta’s iconic Ludacris, Vallejo’s own LaRussell, and a special New Orleans-style performance by bounce queen Big Freedia with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus. Representing the local scene, Northern California’s pop-punk band Destroy Boys and Tamalpais High School’s rock band Midrift are highlighted. Bay Area transplants Baalti will showcase their distinct Indian-inspired electronic beats. Former Oaklander Still Woozy adds his songwriting talents, and Dirtybird Records founder Claude VonStroke is expected to drop some electrifying tracks. San Francisco’s top DJ Infinite Jess will also be performing, with more local talents anticipated to grace the Dolores Stage. This year’s lineup is packed with treats like DJ Koze, Mayer Hawthorne, and Floating Points, promising one of the most impressive undercards in recent festival history.
