Max Verstappen narrowly maintained his lead from pole position in the exhilarating Miami Grand Prix, facing relentless challenges from Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli.
The race’s outset was electrifying across the 57 laps, with Verstappen seeming to achieve a strong start as the lights went out. Nevertheless, as he approached Turn 1 on a low-grip track, he locked his brakes, inviting Norris to make a daring attempt to seize the lead.
As Verstappen regained his composure, Norris strayed off the track, falling from second to sixth position, paving the way for Antonelli to become the next contender for the lead on lap one.
Antonelli, despite his skillful drive in the Mercedes, couldn’t overtake Verstappen and soon found Oscar Piastri’s McLaren looming large in his rear-view mirrors. Yet, he held firm to his second position for the remainder of the first lap.
In another part of the race, Jack Doohan reported a puncture following his collision with Racing Bull’s Liam Lawson during a fierce skirmish.
