Tornado Devastation in Selmer: A Tragic Update

The Selmer Police Department has provided the McNairy County News with the confirmed totals from the tornadoes that struck Selmer early on the morning of April 3, 2025.

Sadly, the town of Selmer reported three fatalities, all occurring along New Bethel Road. Additionally, McNairy County experienced two more losses due to the storms, with one fatality on New Bethel Road and another on Friendship Road.

In total, 14 people across McNairy County were rushed by ambulance to various hospitals in the surrounding region.

Many other residents sought medical attention on their own, visiting PrimeCare or Lifespan Health as walk-in patients for injuries due to the storms.
