ATLANTA – The Minnesota Twins have called up their highly-touted prospect, Luke Keaschall, for his major league debut, placing him in the lineup as the designated hitter on Friday against Atlanta. Keaschall, considered the third-best prospect in the Twins’ system and 57th overall in baseball for 2025 by MLB.com, was selected in the second round of the 2023 draft from Arizona State. Prior to his promotion, he was hitting .261, with one double, one home run, eight runs, and nine walks, boasting a .379 on-base percentage in 14 games for Triple-A St. Paul.

“I believe I can make a significant impact here and help this team win,” Keaschall remarked ahead of the series opener against the Braves. “I’m thrilled to be here and eager to show what I can do, but it really is a dream come true for me.”

To accommodate Keaschall on the roster, utility player Mickey Gasper has been sent down to Triple-A. Keaschall’s arrival comes after earning the Twins’ Minor League Player of the Year Award in 2024. With third baseman Royce Lewis still recovering from a strained left hamstring sustained during spring training and yet to make his season debut, the Twins are on the lookout for more offensive options. Adding to their injury woes, right fielder Matt Wallner joined Lewis on the injured list Thursday with a similar ailment.
