Freshman sensation Sarah Strong also shone, contributing 20 points alongside 12 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks in a remarkable NCAA tournament debut. A flawless performance in the opening half saw UConn surge to a staggering 66-16 lead. The Huskies dominated the floor with breathtaking runs of 22-0, 12-0, and 13-0, marking their 31st consecutive victory in a first-round game.
UConn (32-3) blasted through the first quarter, racking up 34 points while showcasing a perfect streak by converting all 11 of their 2-point attempts, many of which resulted from fast-paced layups off the press.
