Max Verstappen clinched his inaugural win of the 2025 racing season with a superb performance at the Japanese Grand Prix, leaving the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in his wake. This marked his fourth straight triumph at the Suzuka Circuit. Starting from pole, Verstappen quickly established a solid lead over his McLaren pursuers during the initial laps.

The race took a dramatic turn during the pit stops when Verstappen experienced a slightly sluggish stop, coinciding with Norris’s own pit entry on the same lap. This led to a tense moment at the pit exit, with Norris attempting to run side-by-side with Verstappen, ultimately veering onto the grass to avoid a collision. Although both drivers expressed their frustration over the incident via team radio, the stewards decided against launching an investigation, allowing Verstappen to maintain his edge over Norris as the race unfolded. He steadily widened the gap between them.

In an intense final 10 laps, Piastri increased the pressure by closing in on Norris, prompting the latter to accelerate his pace in a bid to challenge Verstappen’s lead. However, the effort fell short, and Verstappen crossed the finish line ahead of Norris, celebrating his 64th Grand Prix victory.
