We are closely monitoring a weather front that is anticipated to bring severe storms; however, its timing has shifted. Initially, this front was expected to reach Southeast Texas late this evening, but now it looks set to arrive Monday morning as you’re heading out to start your day.

There is still a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) for severe weather across parts of the Brazos Valley and Piney Woods, with a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) for areas south of the Brazos Valley, including the northern zones of Houston’s metro area. The main threats with these thunderstorms include damaging wind gusts and sizable hailstones.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 1 AM Monday for several counties: Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Houston, Trinity, Walker, San Jacinto, Grimes, and Washington.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains until 1 AM Friday.

Before heading to sleep, it’s wise to check the radar. Severe storms are pushing south into the central Brazos Valley.
