This upcoming weekend, residents in Dallas-Fort Worth might experience stormy weather. Saturday’s Forecast: Expect potential late storms. The day will start with extensive low-level clouds due to southern winds carrying Gulf moisture. However, these clouds are expected to break up later, allowing sunshine to peek through around noon in DFW. The afternoon will be calm, with temperatures rising into the 80s. Winds will be gusty, reaching speeds of 25 to 30 mph, though no storms are anticipated as a stable air layer should remain intact. The first chance of storms could arise in the evening as a dry line approaches from the west, accompanied by a strong disturbance potentially weakening the air cap after sunset. If storms do develop, they might occur between 8-9 p.m. and continue until 1 a.m., particularly affecting areas to the west and north of DFW. These storms could bring hail and strong winds.

Sunday’s Forecast: There’s both a morning and evening potential for storms. Early on Sunday, a second disturbance may move in from the hill country, with a 20-30 percent storm risk. Should these storms occur, they won’t be widespread but may include hail. After any morning storms, temperatures will again rise into the 80s, ahead of a cold front descending from Oklahoma, expected by late afternoon. This front may trigger a scattered line of storms, notably from Dallas moving eastward between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Though the storms won’t be widespread, any that do develop could be severe, bringing hail and high winds.
