Wells Enterprises, also known as Wells Dairy, has voluntarily pulled 22 types of ice cream and frozen yogurt from the shelves due to concerns about potential plastic contamination. The recall impacts products distributed across over 100 locations within the United States.

The Iowa-based company announced the recall on April 25, with the FDA categorizing it as a Class II recall. As clarified by the FDA, this category indicates a situation where using or being exposed to the product might lead to temporary or medically reversible health issues, with a low chance of severe health consequences.

This recall affects over 17,000 three-gallon tubs of ice cream in various flavors, with Vanilla Frozen Yogurt accounting for more than 5,280 of these tubs.

All implicated products have expiration dates between March and October 2026. Affected items include Rocky Road Flavored Ice Cream (UPC: 070640050314, Lot 50009), Mocha Almond Fudge Ice Cream (UPC: 070640050420, Lot 50016), and Peanut Butter ‘N Fudge Ice Cream (UPC: 070640050574, Lot 50012), among others.

Additionally, the recall notice lists other affected products that include Country Rich Vanilla Ice Cream, Scooper Hero Ice Cream, BIPC Flavored Ice Cream, and multiple Vanilla Flavored Ice Cream variants under different brands such as Johnny Rockets, Glenview Farms, Sysco, and Keith Valley.

The recall notice does not detail any specific consumer complaints but advises customers to verify product batch codes and remove any affected items from their households.
