The PGA Tour recently suspended Wesley Bryan after he participated in a LIV Golf-backed event. Although Tour officials have not released a statement, Bryan admitted to golf website Monday Q, which initially broke the story, that he is unaware of the suspension’s duration. He plans to engage with the tour’s appeals process. Currently 35, Bryan is attending this week’s PGA Tour Corales Puntacana Championship in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, but not competing. Last year, he secured a second-place finish at this event behind Billy Horschel. This event coincides with the RBC Heritage, a tournament Bryan won in 2017 in his home state of South Carolina, marking his sole PGA Tour victory. Without full tour status, Bryan has participated in three events in 2025, most recently in March. He achieved a 25th-place tie at the Farmers Insurance Open in January but has missed the cut in two subsequent tournaments. He ranks 169th in the FedExCup standings, accumulating 31 points and official earnings of $75,068 for the season. In addition to golf, Bryan, along with his brother George, has gained popularity through their YouTube channel, which showcases trick shots and golf challenges. Recently, he took part in two PGA Tour influencer events, including one in March as reported by Golf Digest.

The Bryan brothers also competed in a LIV Golf event at Doral, “The Duels: Miami,” held the week before the Masters. George Bryan, partnered with Sergio Garcia, clinched victory in the nine-hole scramble during the first playoff hole. This event, featuring six LIV golfers and six YouTube creators, boasted a $250,000 prize pool and was streamed live on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel. Participants were advised, through a third party, that there might be possible disciplinary actions from the PGA Tour as per Monday Q reports. Only Wesley Bryan faced suspension, allegedly the day following “The Duels” broadcast on Horvat’s channel. Bryan mentioned to Monday Q that he has no regrets about participating in “The Duels.” “That video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf,” he stated. “We are committed to supporting Grant and growing the game through YouTube.” He also conveyed his appreciation for his professional journey with the PGA Tour. “Over the past eight or nine years, the opportunities have been incredible,” Bryan remarked. “I’m very thankful to the Tour for this. I sincerely hope this isn’t the conclusion of my professional golf career.” Over the course of his career, Bryan has made the cut in 68 out of 134 PGA Tour events, achieving five top-five finishes and nine top-10 results. After playing collegiate golf at the University of South Carolina, he turned professional in 2012 and joined the PGA Tour in 2017, amassing $5,247,630 in prize earnings.
