Canelo Alvarez is stepping into new territory as he competes outside North America for the first time. The unified super middleweight titleholder is set to square off against William Scull this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the action starting at 7 p.m. ET on DAZN PPV.

With a career tally of 62 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws, including 39 knockouts, Alvarez aims to be crowned the undisputed champion at 168 pounds once more. A victory could set the stage for a bout against Terence Crawford in September, adding more prestige to his already illustrious career.

Alvarez previously brought all four major super middleweight belts under one roof after a masterful 11th-round TKO over Caleb Plant in November 2021. Following four successful title defenses, he was stripped of the IBF belt for choosing to fight Edgar Berlanga instead of the mandatory challenger Scull.

Undefeated William Scull, boasting a record of 23 wins with 9 knockouts, won the vacant IBF title in a controversial decision against Vladimir Shishkin last October. His match with Alvarez marks his first attempt defending this title.

In the evening’s co-main event, Badou Jack successfully retained his WBC cruiserweight title. Jack (29 wins, 3 losses, 3 draws, with 17 KOs) edged out a majority decision against Norair Mikaeljan, marking his return to the ring after a two-year hiatus. Before this, Jack captured the cruiserweight crown via a TKO over Ilunga Junior Makabu in the 12th round. He was initially slated to fight Ryan Rozicki, who withdrew in April due to a training injury.

Norair Mikaeljan entered as the WBC champion “in recess” and was on a winning spree with four consecutive victories, following a decision defeat to Mairis Briedis back in November 2018.

Stay tuned for live updates, results, and in-depth, round-by-round analysis as the night unfolds.
