On June 12, 2025, Cloudflare experienced a widespread service disruption that impacted a broad range of our vital services. These included Workers KV, WARP, Access, Gateway, Images, Stream, Workers AI, Turnstile and Challenges, AutoRAG, Zaraz, as well as portions of the Cloudflare Dashboard.

This outage persisted for 2 hours and 28 minutes, affecting users worldwide who were utilizing the mentioned services. The disruption was triggered by a malfunction within the fundamental storage infrastructure supporting our Workers KV service. This service is essential for numerous Cloudflare products, as it handles configuration, authentication, and asset delivery across the affected offerings. Notably, part of this infrastructure is supported by a third-party cloud provider, which experienced its own outage, directly affecting the availability of our KV service.

We sincerely apologize for this service interruption. This was a lapse on our end, and although the immediate cause of the outage was due to a third-party vendor failure, we take full accountability for the dependencies we select and how we architect our systems around them.

It’s important to note that this was not the result of a cyber-attack or any security breach. No data was compromised due to this incident. Moreover, services such as Cloudflare Magic Transit and Magic WAN, DNS, cache, proxy, WAF, and related functions were not directly affected by this outage.
